How long you have to reverse a commission.
Every network locks commission on its own clock. Before the lock, a transaction can be declined or amended. After it, recovery gets harder, and on some networks it ends. Each rule below is read from the network's own documentation and linked.
Networks count from the transaction's date. A capture date is a close stand-in: the sale follows the click.
Awin· Access, 67-day maximum
Pick a date.
CJ
Published default- When it locks
- On the standard cycle, transactions lock on the 10th of the month after their event date. One extension moves the lock to the following 10th. Programs on a custom cycle lock 7 to 60 days after posting.
- After the lock
- Locked or closed transactions cannot be corrected or cancelled.
Awin
Published default- When it locks
- Each program auto-approves its transactions after its own validation period, counted from the tracking date, and the period cannot be switched off. On Awin Access it is at most 67 days; on Accelerate and Advanced it depends on sector and contract.
- After the lock
- On Access, approved commissions cannot be reversed. On Accelerate and Advanced, Awin support can reverse them until they are paid. Commission already paid cannot be reversed on any plan.
Your program's own period can be shorter. It is in your Awin program settings, and when it differs, it is the one that counts.
PartnerStack
Published default- When it locks
- Last month's commission invoice is open for review from the 1st to the 7th and is charged at the end of the 7th, unless you pause it.
- After the lock
- Once paid, the commission belongs to the partner. Recovery is a clawback through PartnerStack support: a negative commission set against the partner's future earnings.
impact.com
Set per program- When it locks
- Set per contract: either a number of days after the action (at most 90), or months and days after the end of the action's month. Pending actions can be modified or reversed until then.
- After the lock
- Once the locking date passes, the action is locked and counts as approved.
Each action shows its own locking date in impact.com.
Rakuten Advertising
Published default- When it locks
- Transactions can be cancelled or adjusted within the transaction update window: 90 days after the order by default, or shorter where the advertiser set one. On Enhanced Order Locking, each order locks on its own auto-lock date.
- After the lock
- Locked orders cannot be adjusted or cancelled.
Rakuten programs are moving to impact.com tracking through 2027. Transactions dated before a program's switch are still handled at Rakuten.
Webgains
Published default- When it locks
- The validation period (formerly the recall period) runs 30 days from the transaction by default, longer where agreed with Webgains.
- After the lock
- Once the period passes, the transaction is confirmed and cannot be cancelled or adjusted.
Tradedoubler
Published default- When it locks
- Pending transactions auto-approve after the plan's validation period: 15 days on Start, 30 on Walk, and 60 to 90 on Run. Tradedoubler does not lengthen it.
- After the lock
- A transaction not reclassified in time is valid and payable.
Enterprise contracts can differ from the plan defaults.
Commission Factory
Published default- When it locks
- Transactions lock 30 days after the sale date by default; other lengths are set with the account manager.
- After the lock
- A locked transaction cannot be amended or voided, for any reason.
Partnerize
Set per program- When it locks
- A force-approval period in the contract approves pending conversions a set number of days after the conversion. There is no public default.
- After the lock
- Partnerize publishes no rule for reversing an approved conversion.
The period is a term of your Partnerize agreement.
Adtraction
Set per program- When it locks
- Each program sets its own rules. Brands usually approve once a month, after the customer returns window, which is often 30 to 45 days.
- After the lock
- Adtraction publishes no rule for reversing an approved transaction.
Your program's approval rules are in your Adtraction account.
TradeTracker
Set per program- When it locks
- Each program sets its own validation period, and TradeTracker publishes no default.
- After the lock
- TradeTracker publishes no rule for reversing an approved transaction.
The validation period is in your program settings.
